Access requirements Description
Admission to the first year of study programme Cultural Heritage shall be granted to candidates who have passed:
- Matura or
- vocational matura in any secondary school programme and an examination in the matura subject history or history of art; if the candidate has already passed this subject in the vocational matura, an examination in any other matura subject; or
- school-leaving examination (prior to 1 June 1995) under any four-year secondary school programme.
Programme learning outcomes
Students will be able to:

- work as part of an interdisciplinary, organised team,
- read texts (in the broadest sense of the term) critically,
- produce an autonomous specialist or general-interest written text, provide a technical justification for it and defend it in public with technical arguments,
- demonstrate an overview of basic topics in the humanities,
- demonstrate theoretical knowledge of the methodological tools used in humanities disciplines and use them in practice,
- undertake practical work in professional environments,
- educate and participate in lifelong learning programmes,
- reflect critically on own work,
- undertake ethical reflection on phenomena occurring in the professional environment and among the general public,

- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the basic theoretical and practical aspects of the field of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Slovenia, Europe and around the world,
- critically evaluate material culture, integrate knowledge from all humanities fields in an interdisciplinary manner, critically verify information and phenomena in professional environments,
- evaluate human influence on the environment in all periods of history from prehistoric times to the present day,
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the development of heritage protection and existing legal practice,
- evaluate cultural and natural heritage and identify the changing social circumstances that dictate the dynamics of heritage protection and promotion,
- demonstrate knowledge of and autonomously use scientific and methodological tools specific to the field to identify and resolve concrete problems in the field of the study, protection and popularisation of cultural heritage,
- autonomously use material and historical sources for specific professional work and information and communication technologies and systems in archaeology, ethnology, history of art, history and heritage protection.
Description of quality assurance obligations of the programme / institution
The University of Primorska carries out all necessary activities to monitor and ensure the quality of its work. In its work, the University is committed to the Slovenian and European recommendations and standards in the field of quality.
According to the Higher Education Act and the UP Statute, the Rector is responsible for the quality of the University, who, with the approval of the University Senate, adopts criteria for the quality of the University, study programmes, scientific research, artistic and professional work and is responsible for monitoring, determining and ensuring quality (self-evaluation of the University).
