The study program Conservation and Restoration is devoted to the conservation of works of art and of cultural artifacts which merit regard as irreplaceable documents owing to their respective historical, artistic and cultural value, and whose conservation is therefore of public interest. In a wider context, the conservation of our cultural heritage is defined as a part of Human Rights. The basic

Gilders/goldplaters and decorators design and refine objects and surfaces with traditional and modern craft techniques. They apply gold plating of gold leaf to ornamental and everyday objects or cover them with layers of silver leaf, leaf copper or bronze powder. In addition, they repair and restore historical art and furnishings or parts of buildings (e.B. church altars, monuments, tower clocks)
