The diploma degree programme of Conservation prepares students for an academic conservator’s continually changing and expanding field of activity. The four specialist areas of the study programme cover the conservation and restoration of paintings, objects, textile, and stone. Additionally, there is the option to specialise in the conservation of archaeological finds or contemporary art. The study

As part of the programme, students learn about the basics of geology - rocks, their mechanical and chemical properties - and discover which of these properties are useful for stonemasonry. They learn about traditional and modern methods of working stone, acquire knowledge of its use, restoration, planning and computer design of stone products. They will learn both manual and mechanical processing

Gilders/goldplaters and decorators design and refine objects and surfaces with traditional and modern craft techniques. They apply gold plating of gold leaf to ornamental and everyday objects or cover them with layers of silver leaf, leaf copper or bronze powder. In addition, they repair and restore historical art and furnishings or parts of buildings (e.B. church altars, monuments, tower clocks)

The stonemason will be able to organise and carry out work in the manual processing of stone products, in the mechanical processing and installation of stone elements. He knows how to choose the right type of stone for different products. He knows how to use and maintain hand tools and machines for cutting and processing stone.

We are the official contractor for the national professional qualification "Stonemason - Restoration assistant". The training is formally recognised on the basis of national professional standards and acquired on the basis of verified training programmes or as part of the procedure for the verification and confirmation of national professional qualifications.
